Common questions
How do I link a verse?
Type a reference the way you’d write it: John 3:16, 1 Cor 13:4-7, Psalm 23. It turns into a link as soon as you finish typing it, and a preview appears above the keyboard. Tap either to read the passage.
How do I look up any passage?
Type it into the search field at the bottom of Notes, like Romans 8 or John 3:16, and tap Read. It opens even if it isn’t in any of your notes.
How do I pin a note?
Swipe right on a note and tap Pin. Pinned notes stay at the top of Notes. Swipe again to unpin.
How does recording work?
Tap the mic above the keyboard and keep writing. It records with your iPhone locked, too. Tap the recording at the bottom of the note to pause or stop.
Where does the transcript come from?
Your iPhone makes it when you stop recording, and nothing is sent anywhere. Open it from the recording at the bottom of the note.
Why can I hear typing in my recording?
Your keyboard’s click sound is on. It’s silent when your iPhone is on Silent, or you can turn it off in Settings › Sounds & Haptics › Keyboard Feedback.
I deleted a note by mistake.
Deleted notes stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Find it under You › Recently Deleted and tap Recover.
Do my notes sync?
Yes, through your private iCloud, when you’re signed in to iCloud on each device. They’re never stored on our servers.
Which Bible translations are there?
The Berean Standard Bible and the World English Bible (British) are built in and work offline, and so is the King James Version outside the UK. The NIV, NASB, Amplified and more open with a connection. Choose yours under You › Default Bible Translation.
How do I export my notes?
Go to You › Export All Notes. You can include your recordings and transcripts, and save the file to Files, AirDrop it, or send it.
